The EYE SEE YOU Project uses the intimacy of the photographic lens to hold meaningful encounters with individuals around the world. This project was inspired by my conversations with members of marginalized communities in the slums and refugee camps of South Africa and Lebanon. Though vastly unique and complex, each of the communities I visited had all been abandoned by their local community-- police enforcement and government ignoring their existence. Members openly shared their stories with me, as having a visitor was rare. This project is in recognition of these communities and the essential human desire to be seen.

A portrait is made after a brief moment of eye gazing between the photographer and the photographed. Portraits made throughout the project will be transformed into an installation exploring the inherent and unique beauty of all.
