Moving into February
January was a successful month of brushing teeth. Aster the Disaster reminded me everyday to brush my teeth, and I’m glad I had her support. Now I’m onto a new challenge. Now that I am fully settled in an apartment of my own, I don’t really have any excuses not to cook for moi. So, in an effort to keep up with self-care, I'm going to eat home-prepared meals for all of February. Plus, I’m hoping that it will give me a kickstart to getting back into shape and to fit into my clothes for Alej’s wedding in March. That jumpsuit I wore on New Year's was a little too tight for my comfort. Need to take some of that hibernation holiday fat off and get back into my spring clothes. It’s 5 degrees outside, and I’m already thinking about bathing suits in the summer. *sigh *dream*
So how is the move working out so far? I’ve been in my new place for a week, and I’m absolutely loving it. That pain in my shoulder that was bugging me is now gone. I’m back to waking up at 6:30 in the AM. I’m smoking and drinking less. Sleep is still an area of improvement. I haven’t started shooting again yet, but that’s all to come. Yesterday I went to see Dr. Uniacke (psychiatrist), and we had a conversation about all the moving around I did in the last year. Kind of crazy to do considering how destabilizing it is, but how healthy and good it was for me given the self-efficacy and new perspective it gave me. As happy as I am to be back in New York with my own address and bed, I am dreaming about this summer—beach time in the Mediterranean~~~ Oh yeah. In the meantime, I’m prepping for this weekend. First party… Yalla!
