The Eggistentialist

I love everything about eggs. Their texture, color, shape, symbolism, nourishment and flexibility. As banal as eggs may seem, they are and have been a fascination for me. When I was a little girl, I cracked open an egg that had been fertilized. I remember seeing the early formations of a chick. Grotesque perhaps, but it is what added to my fascination of the mysteriousness of eggs.
Behind the process: The egg was a source of inspiration and experimentation for me to play with light and shadow. When I didn’t have a human model, I would photograph eggs. They proved just as interesting as humans, if not more. The first print I ever sold was a print of eggs. Can you guess which image?
Chicken or egg?
